We secured planning consent in 2015 for the change of use a vacant warehouse (Use Class B8) in an allocated Primary and Industry and Warehousing Area to a Place of Worship (Use Class D1) on behalf of the Redeemed Christian Church of God. Our client had been searching for a new venue in East Bristol to accommodate a growing congregation for over ten years, having been unable to secure any other location. This site has very limited off-street parking and although accessible in sustainability terms, our client was required to submit a Travel Plan, which includes targets for reducing car travel and increasing travel to and from the site by minibus. A Noise Management Plan was also required to ensure any concerns from residential neighbours could be adequately avoided, mitigated and/or dealt with. The church has been in operation for over three years.
